The Play Store account on the device must match the invited Google account. The release also has to be rolled out, not left as a draft. New testers can take a few minutes. Have them open the opt-in link while signed into that account.
If you are stuck after the accepted steps, collect the exact error text and timestamp before you contact support. Vague tickets bounce.
Worked after I signed the device into the invited Google account. The work profile Gmail was the silent fail.
